In the beginning of August, 2007, Eco-TIRAS and its member NGO ‘Generatia PRO’ from the Village of Olanesti, Stafan Voda Region of Moldova and with leadership of Polish rural NGO Stowarzyszenie Ekologiczno-Kulturalne ZIARNO www.ziarno.org.pl from Slubice near Plotzk, organized a study trip to Poland for young NGOs members from Moldova (Olanesti, Talmaza, Crocmaz, Rezina, Straseni, Dubasari and Bender). The summer school will include workshops about sustainable development, ecology, organic farming, developing the strategy, study tour through Poland including Rospuda river and canoeing and summary of experience received, developing the ideas for strategy for the rural communities of Moldova. The Project is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland.

On May 12-13 Eco-TIRAS in partnership with German non-profit Institute for International and European Environmental Policy, Berlin, organized the international workshop “Transboundary Dniester River Basin Management in European Perspective: Institutional and Public Participation Aspects”. The workshop is organized as a part of the European Commission twinning project ‘PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN INTEGRATED DNIESTER RIVER BASIN MANAGEMENT: NGO CAPACITY BUILDING IN MOLDOVA’ (2005-2006). The workshop is also supported by Milieukontakt Oost Europa site , National Endowment for Democracy www.ned.org, REC Moldova www.rec.md and US Embassy in Moldova www.usembassy.md

Public hearings in Academy of Sciences of Moldova, посвященные Днестру On March 5, 2007, in the Academy of Sciences of Moldova took place public hearings dealing with environmental impact of Novodnestrovsk Hydro Accumulation Station. They were provoked by Ukraine violation of Espoo Convention (1991) when Ukraine did not informed Moldova on planning activity and not presented to neighboring low stream country the environmental impact assessment. In public hearings took part members of the Academy, researchers and eco-NGOs from Moldova and Ukraine. Resolution in Rus, En, Md. (1.79 Mb)

November 2005. Eco-TIRAS member from Ukraine – Mama-86 informs from the Kuchiurgan River (Lower Dniester left tributary) on the situation created in the result of illegal construction of fish ponds which deteriorated river hydrology and seriously damaged Village Stepanovka.Mesage from Svetlana Slesarenok (rus) Decision (ucranian)
